• Global value chain perspective has been coopted from critical theory by international institutions and governments to account for the fragmentation and integration of productive process at the world scale. Challenging the dominant narrative that participation in GVCs per se favors development, this workshop will confront pluridisplinary contributions to explore the dynamics of labor processes, standard settings, international agreements in the unfolding of financialized and uneven developpement.
