Abstract
The ABC programme continues the work undertaken with the Platblock programme (2023-24, LabexICCA funding), which analysed the development of platforms and applications using blockchain technology in the culture and communication industries. Having identified various systems combining this technology with AI products and services in a range of sub-sectors, ABC’s primary objective is to conduct an inventory of these convergences on a European and North American level. Secondly, it aims to conduct qualitative surveys on a sample of around ten specific players, through athree-level analysis: firstly, their industrial strategy and economic model; secondly, the organisation of work and the issue of the consequences of working in Web3/AI projects in terms of mental health; thirdly, the position of these players on the issue of the environmental cost of training AI models and maintaining blockchain infrastructures.
